Fat Cat Skincare® — Our Story

Founded by holistic health practitioner and botanical formulator Tiffany Nellene Rascon, Fat Cat Skincare® was born from a deeply personal journey — one rooted in sensitive skin, hormonal shifts, and the search for gentle, effective protection in a world full of exposure.

After developing melasma and experiencing the impact of sun sensitivity and pigment changes firsthand, Tiffany began formulating plant-based, mineral-rich skincare that could protect, calm, and restore the skin without harsh chemicals or irritation. What began as a personal healing path soon became a mission: to create skincare that truly respects melanin-rich, sensitive, and sun-exposed skin.

While working with elders with dry skin, Tiffany took botanicals to a new level of hydration with Aloe Vera based anhydrous blends for aging, dry skin to reduce itching, flaky skin.

Today, Fat Cat Skincare® is both a protective skincare brand and a botanical formulation studio, creating products that support skin through adventure, movement, healing, and everyday life.

When Tiffany Rivera’s son came to her with a painful, swollen tattoo that looked more inflamed than inspired, she knew there had to be a better way to support freshly tattooed skin.

With over two decades of experience in therapeutic care and botanical formulation, Tiffany turned to what she trusted most — plant-based ingredients known for their calming and restorative properties.

She formulated small test batches designed to comfort stressed skin, support the barrier, and ease the tight, irritated feeling that often follows new ink.

What started as care for her son quickly became a focused mission: create tattoo aftercare that respects both the art and the skin beneath it.

Kid Cats Skincare™ — Where Education Meets Play

🐾 Kid Cats Skincare™ is the playful, educational extension of Tiffany Rivera’s protective skincare mission.

Created to teach children how to care for their skin safely in the sun, Kid Cats combines animated storytelling with gentle, plant-based formulations designed for sensitive and melanated skin.

Inspired by Tiffany’s own family and her desire to normalize sun safety education for children of color, Kid Cats empowers young adventurers to protect, hydrate, and recover — confidently.To make skincare joyful and empowering for children, Tiffany created Kid Cats Skincare™ — an animated, story-driven skincare line led by Fat Cat and a cast of playful characters who teach kids how to care for their skin while exploring the world.

Through short videos, coloring pages, and outdoor adventure stories, Kid Cats helps children learn:

Tiffany Nellene Rivera is the founder and lead formulator behind Fat Cat Skincare™ — a performance-driven botanical skincare line engineered for active lifestyles and melanin-rich skin.

With over two decades of hands-on clinical experience as a bodyworker, Tiffany observed firsthand how environmental stress, sun exposure, inflammation, and barrier disruption affected her clients’ skin. Her personal struggle with melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation further deepened her commitment to developing mineral-forward, barrier-supportive formulations that protect rather than compromise skin under stress.

Drawing from botanical science, skin physiology, and practical field testing, Tiffany specializes in:
